In Rapid City since 1984, Dr. Boddicker was the first Mohs’ surgeon in the region and has performed tens of thousands of surgeries to date in addition to providing general dermatology care to children and adults of all ages.
BACKGROUND
Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Boddicker completed his undergraduate degree and medical doctorate at the University of Iowa. He left Iowa briefly for an internship at the Gundersen Medical Foundation/La Crosse Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin before returning to the University of Iowa to complete his dermatology training.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Boddicker devotes significant time to the education of doctors-in-training both locally and abroad. He is a clinical professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He is a former consulting physician in the Division of Dermatology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Boddicker is also a visiting professor at Cayetano Heredia Medical University in Lima, Peru, where he was instrumental in establishing the only Mohs’ Surgery program in Peru. He was awarded the American Academy of Dermatology Leadership Circle for Volunteerism Award for his work in Central and South America.

A board-certified dermatologist since 1984, Dr. Boddicker is a member of multiple local, state, and national professional organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatological Surgery, the American Society for Mohs’ Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. When not in the office, Dr. Boddicker enjoys aviation, hiking, and spending time with his wife, adult children, and grandchildren.
